I am a mechanical engineer, computer scientist, and open source developer and am currently evaluating SnappyHexMesher for use in my company's open-source pre-processing tools. While I am aware of the complexity of generating hexahedral meshes, I am surprised at how few tools are available to generate them and at the poor quality meshes that they produce.
