Ivor Clifford started his career at the Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa (NECSA) before moving to Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR). While he completed a Master’s of Nuclear Engineering he continued to work in the nuclear industry where he was extensively involved in the research, development, reverse engineering and maintenance of nuclear reactor safety analysis codes. This experience has allowed him to become a specialist in methods development, particularly using OpenFOAM®. Ivor obtained his doctoral degree from the Pennsylvania State University in USA with a focus on thermal-fluids modeling for High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactors (HTGRs). He is currently employed at the Paul Scherrer Institute performing thermal-fluids safety analysis and methods development for Light Water Reactors (LWRs).
