snapEdge
snapEdge does not work wonders, it sometimes works and sometimes not.
What it does is that it finds the features on STL surfaces and maps the selected patches to those lines/edges.
Download from here http://openfoam.nequam.se/cases/snapEdge.tgz.
Here is a simple example. This shows the inlet patch of a pipe before and after using snapEdge.
And another example of a tet.
I highly recommend running checkMesh after running snapEdge.
