A problem whose solution varies with time. For these problems, time derivatives do not vanish:

\frac{\partial \boldsymbol \Psi}{\partial t} \neq 0

These problems are parabolic in nature, in that a change a time derivative has no effect on the solution at that timestep. Therefore they may be solved explicitly.
