Pablo Higuera is a PhD student at IH Cantabria. His main research focus is multipurpose CFD modelling. He studied Civil Engineering in the University of Cantabria. During his degree he studied one year in Cornell University (NY, USA) within an Excellence Exchange Program. When he graduated, in 2012, he was awarded the Premio Extraordinario Fin de Carrera and the Premio de Ciencias y Técnicas del Agua y del Medio Ambiente. Pablo then started the Máster Universitario en Ingeniería de Costas y Puertos, finishing the program in February 2012 with a research work entitled: "Adapting OpenFOAM to Simulate Coastal Engineering Processes".

Pablo Higuera is a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore. His work involves numerical simulation of coastal and wave-structure interaction processes with OpenFOAM.

His involvement with IH Cantabria began in the 2009-2010 course, during which he obtained a Grant given by the University of Cantabria, working part-time in 2D wave-structure interaction. After this period he becomes a full time research assistant at the same time that he studies the Master degree, thanks to the Beca del Programa de Personal Investigador en Formación Predoctoral of the Universidad de Cantabria.

Pablo Higuera is a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore. His work involves numerical simulation of coastal and wave-structure interaction processes with OpenFOAM.

He is the developer of the IHFOAM and OLAFOAM projects. His research line is centred in the development of specific boundary conditions to generate and to absorb waves within OpenFOAM. Furthermore, this approach has been complemented with the study and validation of a great number of relevant processes for coastal engineering.
