Pedro Lopes is working in OpenFOAM since 2011 (v.1.7.1) to model free-surface flows using the interFoam solver. He is now a PhD in Civil Enginerring, specialised in Hydraulics, Water Resources and Environment with a thesis titled "Free-surface Flow Interface and Air-entrainment modelling in Hydraulic Structures", with the degree obtained in the University of Coimbra. During his PhD, Pedro has developed a sover written in OpenFOAM to deal with the phenomenon of natural entrainment of air to the water due to turbulence at the free-surface.
