OpenFoam-extended is a [http://www.extend-project.de/ Community-driven project] and to remove the confusion I'd like to propose to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fork_%28software_development%29 fork] the OpenFOAM project as the [https://sourceforge.net/projects/openfoam-extend/develop extend project] is already a  separated line of development. There is already a fork  cal [http://freefoam.sourceforge.net/ freeFoam] but [http://www.freefoam.com/ other companies use this name]. So since there is already an effort to have the OpenFOAM code drive by the community this effort should be join under an other name that dose not involve derivative names as [http://www.openfoam.com/legal/trademark-guidelines.php OpenFOAM trademark-guidelines] specified. In the [http://www.openfoamworkshop.org/6th_OpenFOAM_Workshop_2011/Home.html 6th workshop] a presentation was made about this subject and the proposition was to fork the project and change all the header of each file to specify the file that hold of the list of contributor to the project  as it should be in copy-left project. This way the name of the companies that started this project will be specify as one of the contributor and no misunderstanding as if everything in this project was made only by [http://www.openfoam.com/ openCFD] will be made again. This will make further development a much nicer place to be as the name of developer will be specified. An other positive aspect is that the new fork will have development and stable version of the code this way will be easier to maintain the new functionality of this new fork. Now lets chose a name !!
